The HeacocksChris Heacock built this!

Welcome to theheacocks.com!

This site started as a pet project, and it still is. :-)

I have high hopes that someday this site will be a treasure trove of great info and a central hub for all things Heacock!

God Bless!

Could the Air Force be preparing to militarize space? I say it’s about time. Who knows what aliens are out there just waiting to attack us from space. It’s high time we got ready for their potential onslaught.

Aim high! :-)

One Response to I expect a comment from Andy on this one…

  1. Some AF Guy says:

Space ops are nothing new. Most of these ideas have been unclass for quite awhile. The AF “Doctrine Documents” are just that…”doctrine” and not necessarily “plans.” You can get access to all of the AF ones at:
    http://www.dtic.mil/doctrine/service_publications_usairforce_pubs.htm
AFDD-1 and AFDD-2 are the basic ones that most AF people should know and understand. They contain the guiding principles that AF leadership determined should be followed.

With regards to counterspace, the AF actually *had* an anti-sat weapon at some time in the past, and the powers-that-be killed it long ago. There’s lots of issues with blowing up other people’s satellites, both military and civilian. The AF guy in the article states what I’ve heard before: we would much rather “temporarily” deny an enemy’s ability to use a space asset than to destroy it permanently – that’s much to messy (both physically and politically).

If there are really plans to “militarize space,” I can neither confirm nor deny it (because I have no clue). Beyond that, there’s not much more I can say.
