Remember folks, this is what we’re up against when trying to write interactive web content for the masses…

QUESTION: have trouble shooting with the card …..last wed oct 6 nite.. becuz the direct has power off then turn on .. the card is dead …i fought directv .. they will sent me free card ……it seem dertroy the card not unit ……..here is model ds2430rw and serial [omitted] ..i brought last feb 3,1995 .. it prices is 1,135.96 plus tax 88.03…

That’s an actual email sent to our self-help system. Suprisingly, it wasn’t able to discern any “actionable” items from this request.

Apparently, we need some specific cases for:

  • known shooting malfunctions of cards
  • what steps to take after fighting DirecTV
  • how to discern if the card or the unit is dertroyed

I love my job. lol

  2. This email is actually from 1999 and Don dug it out of his archives when he moved back to to the 4th floor. I’ve been meaning to blog it for awhile, but just found it while cleaning out my inbox.

    It’s still the best email even after 6 years…
