Well, Emma turned one after a whole year of waiting! :-) Seriously though. It was a gala affair with multiple cameras monitoring the entire event. It was a really fun deal. We got her a cake, stripped her to the diaper, set her in her little high chair and turned her loose. She was apprehensive at first, but she eventually lightened up and tore into the cake pretty well.

We had both sets of grandparents watching on camera and listening via speaker phone. We all sang Happy Birthday and lit the candles and everything. It was almost as good as being there. ;-)

Anyway, she got some nice gifts and is loving the 1-year-old lifestyle. She also is now walking like she has been walking forever. She just hops up and trucks along. She can even run a bit when she really wants to move fast. It’s the cutest thing ever.

We also got some “fancy” one year pictures taken at the Sears Photos Studio. They came out just great and we are really looking forward to getting the hard copies. In the meantime though, the pictures (which we bought the rights to) are on the photoalbum (link on the right). She is getting so big.. /sigh
