It's really spread out, and there's lots of hills, so a day there can get pretty tiring. A local recommended that we go to the SDZ Wild Animal Park instead. We didn't go, so I can't vouch for how good it is, but several LA locals swore it was better than the actual Zoo. Since I grew up in Cincinnati, and we were told the Cincy Zoo was 2nd only to the SDZ, I just had to go there.
