Hey Chris,

We sometimes work 10-day events at Costco with Yamaha pianos. All you say is true as long as you've kept your Costco membership intact for the entire time since you purchased the TV. If you let it slip, then your return policy becomes void. I do know that they've limited the return now on electronics but I think a good part of everything else they sell is still covered. I know we were allowed to share this with customers who purchased pianos but only if they asked. We weren't supposed to tell everyone they could return the piano at any point for a full refund but I think they can. Yamaha was only on the hook to take the piano back for 30 days. After that, Costco had to deal with the return.

We had a manager explain the policy to us by saying that Costco makes a lot more money in membership fees every year than they pay out in returns. The continuous membership clause catches a lot of people. He shared about a guy who purchased an entire office of furniture for a business from Costco. After several years the business went broke and he returned all the office furniture and got all his money back. Crazy!

Great Story! Its kind of one of those secrets you're afraid to talk about because if people start abusing it, it will probably go away! On the other hand, maybe it will bring in more membership fees. Peace!

I normally don't get in to too many political discussions, except for when I think people are on the right track. I don't think we have been presented with two exceptional candidates, so I voted for the candidate that I believe understands what it means to sacrifice for this country.

I have been thinking lately about two of the thoughts you mentioned. 1) Your assertion on the health care system is spot on. No one else seems to believe me, though. Protecting our caregivers and helping those in the most need is the greatest thing we can do, not let the government get more involved in its control. 2) Socialism has good intentions, but in the wrong hands (i.e. most humans), it rips a people apart. I believe Christ encourages us to take care of those in need, but humans generally can't be trusted and the system will be abused to the point that is won't really work. So instead of encouraging socialism, I believe we (Christians) should take it upon ourselves to maintain that Christ-like attitude no matter how we are governed.

Nice post. I would be interested in hearing the reasons for how you decide to vote.

Meh, you should set it up! I've been on there for a few weeks now and I get *no* spam at all related to facebook stuff.

They've got their share of gimmicky applications, but you don't have to do any of that. You might be surprised who you might get in touch with...

I recently received your invite to Facebook. I, as I usually do with invited to trendy web applications, ignored it and went about my business. Thanks for trying to keep me updated with what's "the haps" these days, but I'll stick to my fax machine and 28.8kbps access to the information superhighway for now...

Chris,

What a touching story.
I was with my Grandma as she passed, telling her it was ok and we'd all take care of each other.

I was holding her hand and stroking her cheek when she took her last breath.

As I read your touching tribute all of those emotions came flooding back. I empathize and I'm so glad you got that moment with your grandma.

You did the right thing.
Message aside being there - and offering some reassurance that it will be "ok" even though it's heart wrenching, unwanted, and entirely unfair - undoubtedly brought her great comfort.

And it will bring you comfort for the rest of YOUR life.

Be well my friend.
And if you make me tear up at work again you're in trouble.
